Picked up a 225 block (probably the last /6 in any salvage yard around here) I read the articles- its got the 5 plugs with extra ribs and all but has a BF casting. I found no reference to this.. is this just an earlier one compared to the BH? Like alphabetically BF, BG, BH, etc? |

I have also seen "BA" blocks so I am not surprised to hear about BF. Do you know the year or can you give us the ID number stamped on the front, passanger side edge? As long as the block has the extra ribs and has a forged crank, it should be a pretty nice block. Give it a careful inspection for cracks and / or damage, if it looks OK... use it. DD |

It came out of a 71 d100. Just got home from taking it apart- looks good so far. |
