basically what is required to pass tech for our slant six races? I am trying to get my car ready for vegas and saw that they require a catch can. Well what else is needed to pass I would hate to go all that way and find out I am not ready.

If its a street car, very little. Overflow can,no missing lug nuts ,seatbelt, decent thread on tires, remove hubcaps, make sure nothing is dripping. Not sure about antifreeze on a street car they make make an issue of that .Also no big holes in firewall and rubber fuel lines limited to 12 inches total,.

You will also probably need two return springs on your throttle linkage.

Most of the tracks we race at don't even check the cars.

Ya, but 'zilla... if you can improve safety and go by the NHRA rulebook, why not do it?

My car always meets the rule book. I'm just saying that most tracks will not even look at a Slant car.

The key word is "MOST".
But it only takes one time.

My local track checks every car, and even made me put tie wraps or clamps on my over flow hose.

Couldn't run my nitrous at Bristol (the first time), because I did not have a fire jacket.

I got a jacket even before the rule changed, but I had to have one to run S/Pro at Coles County.

I didn't realize I needed one in a 13 sec car  . I had a full fire suit at home (jacket, pants, gloves, shoes) from driving circle track. Now I carry it with me.

PS: first slant six race at Valdosta, they were a little picky (not too bad), but the years after, it was just a quick look, for obvious bad things.

Charlie, I think this is another rule that is open to interpretation sometimes. I thought the rule said "ALL" nitrous cars. I have since had tech guys tell me that it is for 11:49 and quicker.

I carry mine anyway just to be safe. :D

The rule book does say "all nitrous" cars. Possibly National Dragster, has a revision posted.
