Guys After putting a Super 6 setup onto my 75 Dart, I've found that my A904 shifts way too early. How do I adjust this? The linkage isn't disconnected, it just needs to be adjusted so that the shifts happen at the right speeds. There must be some way to take the slack out of the linkage. How do I do this? I'm sure it's not that hard. Thanks, Scott |

It helps if you have someone to help you out with this: Jack the car up and place it on jack stands. Have someone push the accelerator all the way to the floor while you are lying on the ground beneath the car. PLEASE BE SURE THE CAR IS OFF and PROPERLY CHOCK THE WHEELS. Check the remaining free-play in the lever on the tranny. If it is excessive, loosen the adjustment nut and adjust the lever to the point that full throttle takes the lever all the way to full stroke. This has been a good starting point for me. Just make sure that there is no binding of the linkage once you are done and go give it a drive. This would probably be a good time to adjust the front band if you know that procedure. sb |
