Hi! I'm a new user from Finland! Just wanted to say hello and thank you for the great forum. Lot's of help here. I have read the forum for some time before I registered. I have Dodge Dart 1967 (as you may guess from my nickname) with 225 and automatic transmission. The photo is over a year old, but the condition is almost the same. I made a partial teardown and the large repairs in this winter and I take new photos when the project is ready. ![]() It's quite common car here in Finland. This car has been shipped here as new in the year 1967. It has no special options, power equipment or air conditioning (You don't really need A/C here in Finland, because it's so damn cold!) The black licence plates were given to the new cars before the year 1972 (today's licence plates are white). Antique vehicles also recieve black plates, but mine is just a normal car. The Slant Six models are undervalued down here. Most of these cars were wrecked and treated badly even today. Some may think I'm crazy when I restore an uninteresting car like this. |

Welcome! That looks like a very nice car. Your english is very good too. Most people in the US also think we are crazy for restoring cars like yours, but we love them and work on them anyway. I have 1968 Dart and 1964 Dart 4dr sedans. Best wishes, Lou |

Thanks for support! I try to slur my Finglish in as legible form as possible. I dug up my lost Photobucket keys and uploaded some pictures there. These pictures are mostly old ones, but the exterior is almost the same. Paint job with original color from mid 90's. I have added some chrome mouldings ect. http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g105/ ... rt%201967/ The major change has occured to the unseen sectors. Bushings and other worn parts were changed from the underbody and the engine compartment. Installed power steering and 14" rims. |

First Rule of speaking a foreign language: When in doubt, slur!Your English is much better than my Finnish, but that is not saying much. Your Dart is a beauty. Keep us posted. |

Bravo! (both the car and your English). Two things: You may want to rework the fuel pipe in the engine compartment like this, and switch to a metal fuel filter for safety. Right now, your fuel filter is placed so that if it breaks or leaks, it will spill fuel on the hot exhaust manifold. Also: I can't quite tell from the photos. Are the headlamps made by Marchal? |

I have changed the fuel line for now. I have experienced stumbling and fuel leaking to the hot manifold. I made all new steel lines from the tank to the carb. And this time away from the manifold. Metal filter is also there. You have good instructions there, thanks. Headlamps: The one is Hella and the other is some China crap. I had to change one, because the old broke up into the thousand pieces. Both H4. Usually sealed beams were changed to H4 by importer. |

The photograph of your Dart reminds me of Alaska where I grew up. The trees, sky, and dirt look very similar. |

Yep...if you care to have a matched set of nicer H4 headlamps, you can get good ones from a Valeo supplier. Part number 082440 (without parking lamp), or 082438 (with parking lamp). ![]() |

Haha! That's a good piece of advice. We use a lots of that in this hobby.Quote: The background reminds me of the movie Dual!
You mean Duel? Great movie. Forum members' favorite one perhaps?Quote: The photograph of your Dart reminds me of Alaska where I grew up. The trees, sky, and dirt look very similar.
That sounds reasonable, because we are at the same latitude as Alaska.Never been in Alaska though, but my father traveled there last summer for fishing. I have been to USA for five times. I have also lived there because my parents moved to Atlanta for a year when I was little. Nice place, I'm going to come again. |

Thanks! Actually, I'm from 61st parallel, but never mind. It's very interesting to hear memories about old cars. Many old people have came talking to me about the times these were taxis and police cars. I uploaded some pics and videos. For evidence that the car still moves on on it's own. |
