for those of you attempting your first super 6 install, here' the pictures of mine. I have since gone through this process three times and now its sort of second nature. the hardest part was finding all the necessary parts. Which is why the article posted else where on this site was so helpful. The most challenging part of the mechanical operation is accessing a few of the triangular washers holding the manifolds in place. They are way back in there! But where there's a will, there's a way. You can do it. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/DSC02301.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> The original slant six single barrel set up <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/chokehousing.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> note the original choke orientation in relation to how the new BBD choke will orient <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/DSC02311.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> I cut the exhaust with a sawsall. Made it easier to get the exhaust manifold off. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/DSC02313.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> with both exhaust and intake manifolds off, this is what it looks like <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/super6002.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> The dutra dual exhaust set up is a left side manifold he created and the right half of an old exhaust manifold. A weld is put in place to seal where it was cut in half. The new Super six intake manifold bolts to the old part of the exhaust manifold, same as before. There is a gasket between the two which I gooped with hi-temp sealent. Also note the thick gasket were the manifolds meet the block. Helps avoid first time leaks. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/super6003.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> I had a problem bolting the two manifolds together because the exhaust bolt hole and the intake bolt hole were slightly off center. When I started to tighten the bolt, it cracked the casting which you can see in the pic. I thus ran a smaller bolt through the two manifolds and tightened it up with a washer and nut. JB WELD has held the crack together <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/super6001.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> new carter BBD carb installed. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/super6005.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> kickdown linkage connected to carb. note that I still needed to block off the two EGR holes in the intake manifold. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/DSC02310.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> the other end of the kick down linkage connects to your automatic transmission here <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k99/kenicb/charger/DSC02893.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> with dual exhaust installed from the muffler shop. note the EGR block-off plate just below the carb. |

You may hate me for this. Why are the triangular washers on backwards? |

I can't really tell if they're bolted on that way, though the pic w/out the nuts on show em hanging that way. Anyhow its an easy enough fix and easy learning experience. I'd just redo one at a time. heres a link to what he's talking about. Hey I just learned this too! So thanks keni and joshie Great pics by the way. I saved them, good clean engine bay and install. I can't wait to see more of that car. A coke bottle charger with a slant six isn't an everyday sight. Dietz |

I got the Dutra manifold years ago and never got around to installing. Thought about selling them off many times. Might install them this summer. |

I'll let you give em to me. I mean, I am a nice guy - so you wouldn't have to worry about them anymore. I'll even let you pay for shipping.
