Good afternoon to all,
I would like to know of any tricks to get the oil pump pick up tube removed from the engine. I have teh oil pan off and the pick up tube looks clogged and want to remove it to try and clean it. the engine itself is spotless I just picked up this car and the owner told me it was a remanufactored block which it looks like zero miles on the enging but the oil pick up screen is filthy and looks clogged so I want to remove it and clean it.
Any help would be great.
Thanks
Ron

Turn the tube counterclockwise. Be prepared to rotate the crank to clear the tube.

Hit it with a rubber mallet. Counter clock-wise.

I got a bigger pipe wrench and a long pull bar and got it to break loose. I knew I could get the advise I needed on this site.
