I picked up a super six set up and the guy said it would work right? Well the kick down linkage looks like a one bbl setup and I cant make heads or tails where to connect the throttle linkage and kick down on this thing. I have the correct k/d linkage for a van with a 2bbl and its intake, but lost the k/d rod. Is the 1bbl rod out of the question?and is the exhaust manifold outlet size the same or is it 2 1/4" cause this one is 2". I think this guy is try'in to take me.

The exhaust manifold outlet is the same size for all slantsix cars, super six or not. A few picures of super six linkages installed are here and here. It looks like the owner in the second link used the 1-barrel kickdown rod on his super six also. I think have heard somebody say that you could reuse the 1-barrel kickdown rod itself with the original 1-barrel kickdown lever but you have to use the super six brackets and slide if you want to do so.

thanks Jeb, both pages are somewhat different than what I have. My k/d slide is straight and dosen't curve at the end. It looks like the mount point on the carb for the slide was broke and turned around so I got a new one and it looks very close to the second set of pic's. I need to see if the trans to carb rod in my 74 scamp will work or I will be stuck. I've gone to every bone yard in Tucson and cant find any super six's, no aspen's, volare, or even vans. :x

I recently super sixed my slant. I have a manual transmission. Do I need any other brackets besides the throttle cable clamp bracket and that extension that holds the spring? I'm currently using the 1 bbl throttle cable bracket (and cable) and it doesn't work very well. The gas pedal is hard to push smoothly from a stop and is generally hard to push! By the way, I'm using a Carter BBD.

thanks in advance for any comments.
