Nobody provides that anymore for free, you gotta buy it. I've used Crane Cam and Comp Cam brand break-in additive, never noticed a difference between the two, engines broke in fine with the stuff (and didn't break either...)

Hey Brennan they are all about the same. Ive used 6 or 8 different ones over the years and they have all worked.

Both Comp Cams and this Erson cam came with the lobe lube...I have not seen either brands send the 16 oz bottle of moly goop that you pour into the crank case before you fire the mill off for the first time (cam break in lube additive)

For coating the lobes, you can use moly engine assembly lube some cams come with a packet of that. You will have to follow the cam companies directions for cam break in.

Looks like Erson prefers non-detergent single weight oil with cam break in additive... Comp Cams has asked users to use Rotella and cam break in additive.

Mopar Performance cams come with an assembly lube for the lobes only. Theirs contains an acidic additive to put a fine surface etch on the hardened surface of the cam lobes to better retain oil. Sure has worked well for me in the past. Just don't get it on the cam *bearings*, for that you can use any old moly-fortified engine assembly lube.
