Post subject:  Triple Webers
I just got a triple weber 45DCOE intake carbs & linkage as well as a split header. I have a basically stock 68 225 with electronic ignition. I was wondering if this set-up will work alright without a modified head or cam? I do plan to eventually do the cam & big valves with headwork but probably not till next fall. So in the meantime I would like to run the webers & header & I just wanted to know if this will work o.k.? It is a daily driver, but does not get alot of mileage.Also does anyone have pics or has anyone run this set-up with an automatic? Any help is much appreciated.

That's an awful lot of carburetor for a stock or near-stock engine. I don't think it'll be a good match.

DCOE carbs have exchangeable venturis. Which let you put in smaller venturis to better match the slant six.

And gives you the feeling of instant response that injection does. What cost you is torque down low due to no runner length.

For a stock mill it is to Much, for a daily driver - it will be expensive to run
You will have to ask the Australian members about running this setup.

BUT for a racer and now and then cruiser not to shabby and way cool on the wow factor but the short runners will mean you have to wind it up and if your engine cant breathe it won work so well.

Without the headwork, cam and other engine work, you will probably be disappointed with the results- esp. after going through the trouble of setting them up.
If it were me, I would wait till next fall, when you delve deeper into the engine, that way you can have your cake and eat it too.

BTW before it goes out to 68barracuda your gonna have to send it to me for inspection... :D

Yeah, what Stone said. Those are known to be great carbs, and can be tuned for whatever. The thing is, parts like jets, chokes, etc are pricey but then you need three of everything. Not to mention you'll likely have to order all the stuff from a Weber distributor, unless you're lucky and have one in town. Build a motor worthy of all the time and money you will invest in such a magnificent induction.
