hi sages- dan and others may have addressed this before, but couldnt find the thread. what is the best way after cleaning to coat the battery posts and cable clamps to suppress corrosion(the buildup of the white stuff). most tell me a light coat of petroleum jelly is best. this technique has some credibility since it has been around for at least 75 years. uncle moe told me about it when i was a little twirp. yet, it seems to melt quickly with engine heat and either disappear or accumulate sludge. other modernists say to use the blue spray napa sells for this purpose. what are your opinions and experiences. thanks tons for your always appreciated advice. bob f |

Y'know what's actually worked really well for me? Spray Copper-Cote (copper gasket dressing). It forms a tough, durable, airtight coating that conducts electricity but doesn't corrode. |

I've used WD40 with some success. Also proper proper water level in the battery helps keep down the corrosion and mess that can accumulate over time. -James |

I just pile on Chassis Grease to the Terminals and to the Posts.. Especially on the daily driver's and Cars that see snow - Show cars just get a quick / light coating. Greg |

Now that sounds intriguing, Dan. How much clean-up do you do prior, just basics or do you get stringent? Also, do you treat the clamps as well?
