A search turned up item# 36221 @ $59.98, new not reman, the one on hand locally is mine! Alas, no hits for proportioning valve, guess i'll have to spend the $$ towards the InlineTube BLK245. Going to be a busy week around the garage with several projects in the works:lol: Dave |

Is this a tandem disc/drum master cylinder? Do you know the bore size? |

Unknown at this time the bore size, strictly for all drum A body. Details to follow. Dave |

This part MC36221 is for drum/drum applications See 68 Dart at WWW.rockauato.com . It has a 1" piston bore and residual valves of about 10 psi. They would make calipers drag. MC36426 is a good master cylinder for disc/drum combos. |

What I want is a 15/16" disc/drum or disc/disc MC. If there are no residual pressure valves it would work either way. The later A-body power brake master cylinder is 15/16", but I don't know about the residual pressure valve. |

The MC36426 has a 1 1/32" bore which would give you a harder pedal. MC36406 has a smaller 15/16th bore but is for power assisted brakes. Rock lists an Adelco 18M34 for non-power brakes, 31/32" bore, but it doesn't say if it's for disc/drums. |

How 'bout a Bendix 11516, which is 15/16" bore with the big/little disc type reservoir. You can just remove the residual-pressure valve from the outlet(s) you don't need it on. |

Dan,Do you know if that Bendix PN has the recess in the piston for the pushrod retainer? If so it should work fine for me. There is also Wagner F80266 (and others) for the '73-'75 A-body power disc application. My only concern is that the power brake MC might not have the recess for the pushrod retainer. The fact that the Bendix is $24 less than the Wagner from Rock Auto, at the moment, is attractive. With my fixed 4-piston brake calipers I use very little of my available pedal travel and would like a little more sensitivity hence the desire for the smaller bore MC. |

I am as sure of it as I can be without holding the master in my hand.Quote: If so it should work fine for me. There is also Wagner F80266 (and others) for the '73-'75 A-body power disc application. My only concern is that the power brake MC might not have the recess for the pushrod retainer.
That, and I have a very hard time trusting Federal-Mogul's stuff any more.

Dan, can you elaborate on this valve removal procedure.

Thread an appropriately-sized panhead sheetmetal screw right into the hole in the centre of the tube seat. Pick the screw diameter so it will grab the tube seat without enlarging the hole. Pick the screw length so four or five turns will put the underside of the screw head just barely above the face plane of the outlet boss. Use two screwdrivers on opposite sides of the screw head to pry the screw out of the outlet. It will bring the tube seat with it. The RP valve is a rubber duck bill, backed by a coil spring, behind the tube seat. Remove the duck bill and spring, then reinstall the tube seat (usually by careful "installation" of a short brake pipe kept around for the purpose). |

Just purchased this Bendix MC. Took the old pushrod with no problems. Dan, Thanks for the instructions on removal of the residual pressure valves. I was under the impression that this MC didn't have them. |

Would this be correct for my '63 Dart? |
