G'day, I have just joined up. I recently bought the car in the picture. It is a 1967 Valiant Utility Truck. 225 Slant and 904 with column change. Drums all around. I have got a complete ventilated disc front end from an Aussie 1980 Valiant. Also a Dual circuit master cylinder with remote booster. I picked up a used Electronic Distributor from the States on Ebay. Aussie Slants were never fitted with them. The interior is stuffed so I will fit that with late model buckets and new carpet and trim. Got the new Headlining already. The body is good, just a bit rusty in the rear qtrs and the spare wheel compartment. I have started stripping it, but I am allowing about 12 months for the build. Famous last words.LOL. My daily driver is a 1976 Valiant Regal with 265ci Hemi Six and 3speed Borg Warner Auto on the floor. Dang! Why did all the cool looking cars get built in Australia, South America, and South Africa? Nice looking Ute! |

Rob, It was advertised in "Chryco" the Chrysler Restorers Club magazine by a member. I stripped the interior today and found a false floor, pop riveted in, which I have removed. A lazy way of fixing rust. At least I have my patch panels now. And the original floor isn't all that bad. Roger Great find. I just scored a 66 Dart 270 Wagon. Floor pans and tailgate are the only hang-ups. Have fun and welcome to the forum. Frank |
