| Post subject: | Exhaust manifold question |
Hi, My 67 Dart convertible has a cracked exhaust manifold and I need some help. I've called around looking for a replacement, and the going price seems to be over $100. I've got an old Super Six setup (from a 79 Volare), but no carb for it. I'm wondering if I can use the exhaust from the Super Six with the original intake. I know the Super Six intake might give me a little more power, but then I'd have to find a carb, air cleaner and kickdown linkage. The weather's getting nice and I really want to get this car back on the road ASAP without having to breath exhaust fumes. Thanks puzmail@mn.rr.com |

The supersix exhaust manifold will interchange *if* it is not badly worped. (worped ones are hard to mate with a different intake) Another challenge is getting everything apart without breaking bolts or studs, start soaking everything with "liquid wrench" or other lub. ASAP. If a bolt / nut does not come loose easily, apply heat. DD |

Carbs are not hard to find and kick down ain't that hard either. Seat of the pants between a 1 and 2 bbl. will make you happy. If not able to do swap right now....cast iron can be welded. |
