my 86 van is running like crap and i found out it has a broken push rod. its on the front cylinder; how do i put in a new one? and what would have made it brake? i just started to pull a hill and thats when it happened. the motor has 9500 miles on a rebuild but the rebuilders butchered the job as i stated on earlier posts about 2 years ago. |

82truck,I remember, lets see thats a hydro motor right? If so yup pop the whole rocker off and change the P-rod.I'm wondering if a lifter didn't pump up/stick maybe wacked a valve? Don't think its to common for a hydro P-rod to be breaking like that.Could be just a junk piece that finally broke.Like Ted says coulda got loose if the lifter collapsed so check everything out while your in there.Good luck. |
