whats a good fan to augment the cooling on my 198ci ssix in my 73 swinger? converted to 134a and really can tell a difference in cooling at idle. is there any thing mopar specific i need to know when i go fan shopping? im here in san antonio so this is a big deal. thanks ptgc@idworld.net |

If your radiator is really dirty get it roded out at a reliable radiator shop. Also replace the thermostat...don't use the regular cheap thermostat...get a Stant Superstat they are much better for a couple of bucks difference. I've used standard stainless flex fans and the smaller lighter aluminum version. (which I'm using now) They both perform well but I prefer the lighter Aluminum with a medium pitch. Flex fans are pretty universal. Try to match the dia. to your rad core/shroud. Measure everything and maintain about 1 inch clearence from radiator and anything else that's close to the fan.Different size spacers are available to get it spaced in relation to rad. core.
