I just installed a Holley 450 4barrel carb on my slant. The carb does not have a ported vacuum port on it for my vacuum advance distributor. Do I need to change my distributor to a mechanical advance dizzy? Or can I just recurve my dizzy and run without the vacuum advance? |

For best economy and engine life you need a carburetor with the vacuum advance provision. Sounds like you got one of the cheap street tunnel ram carbs. |

Ya it was a cheap rebuilt carb from www.carburetorsandmore.com I dont really care about economy. Im just messing around with my slant to try to get as much hp out of it and the cool factor. Should I just get a different dizzy? and which one? |

A recurved stock electronic distributor is all you need. Use the search function to learn about advance curves. |
