Does anyone have thoughts on what distributor-less ignition could be retro-fitted for use with the /6?

Electromotive makes a line of EFI controlers and stand-alone distributorless ignition systems. I've seen those used on slant sixes before - the 9 second rail car featured in Mopar Action had one to clear the chassis.

The Electromotive 6 cylinder kit used to be around $500 and you had to make your own trigger wheel. Dennis

A few years ago, I put a Jacob's Mileage Master Ultra Team in my 1969 Valiant. The old one has a separate computer and coil, like the Pro Street or RV Ultra teams. The current Mileage Master has a different coil mounted on the computer.

My works great, although I have no way of compairing it to an MSD or Crane system, or even the Mopar electronic system. It would be interesting for anyone with a consistent running car with electronic ignition to borrow a different system from some one (just the computer and coil), install them teporarily, and see if performance is affected.

I think the Jacobs is more expensive than the others. For the price, I was dissapointed the wires for the power were not heavier gauge. The instructions assume you are a dunce and will use your present ignition computer to drive the new Jacobs computer. Get rid of the old system and connect the distributor directly to the Jacobs computer. Jacobs provides standoffs for the coil terminals so you can disconnect wires without moving them. Don't bother with these things. It cleans up the engine compartment, and leaves fewer components to break.

I currently run electromotive system on a magnum engine. It is installed in a 1971 Scamp. This system is great and very versatile. You have a lot of control over engine functions and they make their own trigger wheels now. Dad and I are currently putting a system on a slant six. Their trigger wheel works great and we had to have a small spacer machined to move the wheel away from all ferrous metal. When I get home tonight I can email you a picture of the spacers we had made. Their wheel has 60 teeth which gives it more resolution on the graphics. Check out their website...I believe it is www.electromotive-inc.com. I have been so pleased with it I am trying to become a dealer for them! If you have any specific question please ask and I will try and answer them for you.
I can also email you an excel spreadsheet that will show a recording of a run the scamp has made, this will show all of the channels the TEC unit will record.
