Hi Seymour: Any chance of getting the National Points update on the website. Now that Woodburn is over with, could we see where we stand in the National Points competition with the combined teams East of the Mississippi? Glad you are back home with no road problems...Did you get any RED LIGHTS on the way home??? Later from Chico, Wayne

Here is what I come up with after Woodburn race for the West Coast Killers Bees and after Knoxville using Brians' figures(less Seymour and Frank who are Killer Bee Members):

East of the Mississippi Teams: 349

West of the Mississippi Killer Bees: 676

Corrections or additions appreciated...

Seymour has updated West Coast Points and now are:

Killer Bees (inc Seymour and Frank): 702

Can someone update the other teams totals..I have them at 349 after Knoxville via Brains update.

Headed to Samoa so will update West Coast after Eureka slant6 race.

Is Kearney race West of the Mississippi?

Wayne, I do believe the Kearney race is indeed west of the Mississippi.

East of the Mississippi racers pts total: 511 (not including Frank and Seymour)

Thanks Brian for your updates. We just completed Samoa with 14 cars and the totals for Samoa were 154 points. New update through Samoa:

Killer Bees Racing Team: 856 points..

Wayne, I thought the Kearney Race was just a social gathering of slant racers and not a for team points race. ie personal points only.
Thought the idea of a East vs West race was for sort of a personal pride race. If I am wrong sorry.

Hi Richard: I think according to Seymour, that any race that is intended to be a National points race has to be approved in advance by Seymour. Maybe Seymour could comment over the website what his thoughs are on making the Kearney race a points race? I have no problem leaving it as a "just run for fun race" but maybe the East of the Mississippi group would want it to count...Either way is okay with me.. Have fun...and BEESAFE

I propose that it count for National points, but not for East or West points. It is intended as an all-country race.

Not sure how many "regular" East or West racers will be there - mostly all from the Midwest.

I am no longer in charge of making such decisons but I will say that when the Kearney event was talked about last year it was going to be a points race, no reason not to be one really. Team points are determined by where the racers are from not where it is held. No reason not to make it count for team points either.

If the team concept is to be continued you need to reconfigure the teams each year to take past participation into account. Maybe California, verses Oregon-Washington, versus the East. Just a thought.

Oops, of course you're right about the points, Seymour.

Hi Seymour: Come on...Our little Killer Bee team started out competing with three our was it four East of the Mississippi teams..Then they werecombined to make it more "even"..Three or is it Four against 1. Maybe we can in the future make it California/Oregon =2 States against the other 48 states or maybe West of the Colorado River vs East of the Colorado group. Don't take the above too serious..just having some early morning fun. We may need to again "adjust' the teams a little for 2010..maybe all the Midwest group could go to the other 'side'. Let's make the Kearney a points race and as you well state, have the drivers points where he originated from go to thier respective team. Thanks for clearing this up...

Hi Semour: Now that the second Woodburn as well as Kearney and I am sure a few East of the Miss. races have been held, any chance of getting a National Point "update" to reflect the year so far including Kearney? Later from the "Nut House"..

Hi Brian: Now that the Kearney is over with, Seymour sent out the revised Killer Bee National Points which total: 1011 points. Any chance of getting the East of the Mississippi points updates? (Which would also include some points for your team from Kearney race) Thanks, Wayne

Wayne, I will update our points after this weekend's race at Bristol. I'm pretty sure the Killer Bees are still in the lead.
