That is a good carb and easily tune-able. Mitch |

I'd see if a V8 throttle cable would work as they are shorter. I think you need to trim the thermostat end of your upper radiator hose. |

I think you're right about the radiator hose, gonna get to that soon. I tried trimming the throttle cable and it frayed like crazy. Gotta go to Plan B: find another cable. |

Yup. And connect the PCV valve to manifold vacuum (drill and tap the EGR blockoff plate). Nice work so far!

Is this a Pinto 2 stage Weber copy? |

Not quite a weber copy. 2100 if I recall correctly it is basically a half a 4 barrel carb in basis. To question about weber copy, have to clarify a bit: Holley 5100 for fords, produced these 5100, 5200/6500 series under weber's license. These 5000/6000 series it is in GOOD shape. lucky. If poor, it simply is a misery, no matter if much rebuild you have done to it. It is cranky if cranky. Had to get weber instead. Cheers, Wizard |

Not at all. It's a synchronous opening 2bbl Ford/Autolite design. They are actually a very good carburetor.

Yep, it's a Ford carb. This one came off a `66 Falcon with a 289. I know I will have to jet it most likely, but this thing seems so dang simple it's beyond belief! Dan, I had the PCV hooked up before I started it. Snapped the pic right after torquing down the manifolds. I have now been bitten by the slant bug. No cure, is there? |

A standard 4bbl air cleaner will fit that! |

Quote: I got this from the Jeep guys (like my dad), who for some reason (like my dad) absolutely hate the Carter BBD.
It's because AMC-spec BBDs are problematic and troublesome.
