I alot of people run Turbo's and Nitrous at the same time... I was thinking that instead of that, spray the Nitrous across the Intercoolers... resulting in much colder air. What kind of a power gain could be expected? The reason for this thought is hearing about Lingenfelter doing it with a Vette that ran 298mph out at Bonneville... |

Better yet... What kind of a power difference would you see? More, or less power to be seen with Nitrous across Intercooler vs. Turbo+Nitrous |

I heard of perging the nitrous onto the intercooler but not doing it the whole way down the track. I think you will see more gains by using it the right way. andrew wagner Quote:

Installing a nitrous shot in the usual way will make more power. That method allows the nitrous to mix with the air, cooling it more efficiently, and at the same time providing more oxygen so you can burn more fuel. Plus, you don't have stray nitrous gas floating around in your engine compartment and possibly adjusting your air/fuel ratio. If I were going to use evaporative cooling on the intercooler, I'd come up with a system that uses a switchable A/C compressor to compress some R134 into a reservoir, wire a solenoid valve to open the reservoir when you want, and have that spray on a fully enclosed intercooler. Or if I wanted the intercooler to work even when the system isn't activated, I could probably work out an air-to-liquid system where the Freon can cool the water further. That way, you don't have to keep refilling the bottle, and you could turn the compressor off when you wanted maximum speed. Kind of Rube Goldberg though. |
