$75 and two miles from home, I couldn't pass up another engine. Owner remembers it in an early 60's Dodge truck. Great, may have scored a shot-peened crank! Here is the deal the valve cover was yellow the block clearly is yellow but the head and pan are blue. Wondering if some parts have been switched over the years? The oil pan looks like a car pan -sump in the middle. Popped the old style valve cover and 2206035 would indicate a 64-66 cyl head. The block is stamped on the top AT 225 10 26. Cast on the side of the (three freeze plug) block is 10124 with 2463430 -15 underneath. I think I remember the owner wanting to swap the engine into a later model car because he said the crank wouldn't accept the later torque converter. I would really like to know the year of manufacture for the block. Thanks for your help, Wayne.

Can't tell you the exact year but according to the /6 table in the articles section the block is '60-'67.

$75 and two miles from home...nice. :)

Block stamp indicates a 1965-model Dodge truck engine made on October 26, 1964. Head could be a rebuilt swapped on, or it was removed for repair and painted blue in the process, but as you say it's the early head.

Thank you getlemen! Stone, I have not come across anyone singing your praises - so I will. You bought a first generation Aussie speed intake. Spent good money on something brand new and untested. That took big ones! Then you handed your baby to Doc for testing. THanks to both of you - slanters can now order this product with a bit more confidence.

Dan, thanks again you are a wealth of info as always!

Aww shux, no praise needed, but thanx Wayne :P

Hell, Doc did all the hard work.

I am more than happy to do a service to the /6 community be it inadvertently or advertently.<< is that even a word? :D

Anything to go faster, right?

You also went out ona limb I recall, as well as keeping the fervor up.

So kudos to you and Doc.
