Welcome to the site.

Slant six engine have been turbocharged, set up with GMC 4-71 blowers, Eaton M-90, prochargers, and probably even a airconditioning air handler blower  . What kind of info are you looking for? Try using the search function on the board, read, then ask some specific questions. Also there are several videos on U-tube of turbo/supercharged slant sixes. Try searching "slant six" on u-tube.

Welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy this Slant 6 community. We are putting a supercharger intake manifold, for the screw type (M90 , 4-71, Yella) blowers, group buy together. Look for the Aussie Speed Blower group buy thread here in the engine section. They are not going to drill the top so we can mount a number of blowers to it.
PM me if you have further questions on this buy.

Here is the Poulan Pro experiment...

I have an M90 I hope to put on, as well as a turbo (this fall).

Centrifugal blowers would be the easiest if not cheapest...

Charlie S., I just bought an Eaton unit that came off a Buick 3.8 v-6, is this the model 90, and is there any info how this could be done. I figured on using part of a stock cast intake and fabricating and weldig a plenum to mount the charger. Since this was a fuel injected car originally and the unit just blew air, can you run fuel through the Eaton, or does the fuel needtobe introduced to the plenum without going through the super charger and be blown into the engine Thanks Steve

I'm fairly sure, that is a M-90 blower. I really can't offer much advice on supercharging. The only hands on experiance I have is an old obsolete turbo system, I did on my 170 engine in 1979. Site member Al T has done a M-90 EFI install.

Al, Ijust bought a Eaton unit from a Buick 3.8, do you know if this is the m90.? What did you use to mount yours, and do you have any info if i want to use a carburator rather than injection. Thanks Steve.

Q1. A Buick 3.8 does use the M90
Q2. See illustration on my website for how I mounted the blower

Q3. I have no experience with carb based S/C

i ran a 4-53 detroit blower on my .030 over engine with a 750cfm holley, the only thing i found is the faster i spun it the less power it made, i don`t know if the m90 is a better design , it should be, the smaller blower liked more static compression and less boost 5lbs. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1484682 ... host=rides http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1484682 ... host=rides

The Buick V6 also used a M65. What supercharger you have depends on the year of the engine it came off of.

The Eaton blowers were not designed to have raw fuel drawn thru them. This may cause the teflon coating to flake off the rotors and/or remove the grease from the rear impellor bearings.

The biggest problem is finding pulleys and belt alignment. I used a Ford 3.8 V6 lower pulley and a Ford 3.0 V6 water pump pulley. Even these are not bolt-ons and require spacers for alignment and centering. These pulleys use a 6 rib serpetine belt, same as the GM supercharger. After farting around with alignment and compoent placement, I finally ended up creating a mounting plate, to mount the alteranator and spring tenisioner.

So my supercharger project is at the manifold stage. I have tried twice to build a manifold from aluminum sheet metal. The next attempt is to use 16g mild steel. I can't weld aluminum with my gas welder and the brazing stuff works well, but the parts can come apart when reheated.

Once the manifold is built, it will be on to the fuel injection. I have 90% of the parts purchased. The biggest expense will be the ECM (most likely a Megasquirt) and setting up the fuel system.

There is also a fitment problem, will the manifold, pulleys and supercharger even fit into a '65 Darts engine bay. Yes, but it will be close. The throttle body will be really close to the brake master cylinder. The supercharger will be really close to the bottom of the hood. The manifold will be really close to the fenderwells. The pulleys will be really close to the radiator, etc, etc.

Now I just need time to continue, this has definetly been a back burner project and this summer is being spent getting a new engine together and making the car presentable.

The Aussie guys have come up with the replacement snout , pulleys etc. for the M90 to work there Blower Manifold. Also works for the Yella Aussie made blower. I have all the pulleys etc from a 4.2L V6 Ford so at least I have some options.
