What shape is it in, are the manifolds cleaned and surfaced, does the heat riser move well, does it include abslutely everything; choke, kickdown linkage throttle mounting brackets if you're switching to the cable style? That doesn't even begin to cover the carb condition. If it's the carter bbd, check the throttle shaft for play as these are notorious for needing to be rebushed. I personally just chased down all the little parts over the course of a year or so and probably spent around $175 for parts alone. This didn't include kickdown linkage since I have a 3spd manual. I also bought the electric choke kit because I just couldn't track down a manual choke. Then I spent another $200 getting the carb rebuilt, $50 to get the manifolds cleaned, I should have had them resurfaced but the were pretty close. I spent hours working on getting the mating surfaces flat and the manifolds lined up. If yours is already bolted together and ready to mount, that's worth something. Hopefully this answers your question. |

Its on a running motor. There is no kickdown its a 4spd. You should have rebuilt the carb yourself. Kits only $25. The motor is in a truck but came from a car and they left the car pan witch inturn puts the pivot point for the clutch pedal in a bind and pops it loose. so its not drivable till I get the pan swapped. |

I'm curious to hear more about the $200 carb rebuild however I think its possible to spend more than that having the carb gone through by the Holley Custom shop... So back to the original question... Are you taking inventory for homeowners insurance or what? Why not toss it out on Ebay and see what the world is prepared to bid and perhaps pay at the end of the auction... Should this thread be in the For Sale section now that you have a better idea of what its worth?

Hey there D-100, Be nice. No-one is being sarcastic on this... there are a million variables, like with any other used item for sale. The greatest variable of all is how badly someone wants it at the particular time you're selling it. Put it on eBay, put a $100 minimum bid on it, and see what happens. My GUESS is that it will sell anywhere between $101 and $200. Shipping is expensive, especially if it is a cast iron intake, so that will hold some folks back. Never confuse what you have into a vehicle (or a part) vs. what it is worth. The classic car ads are loaded with vehicles that state: "Over $12,000 invested... $7500 OBO". That's just the nature of the hobby, I think. - Mac |

Another thought did you search this website? That particular item has numerous posts -- look them up (search supersix) --- you are already limiting your market for being with a manual transmission only--- the hardest part to find is the kick down linkage. Welcome & enjoy the read-- this is not an instant response type site--- it has a wealth of info-- put it to good use. Lawrence |

Well, it really depends on your motivation. I assume you want to maximize the $$ you can get for it? I bought mine in late 2004 and paid $175 for it. Some people would say I paid too much, and I've occasionally seen them for less since then. Currently, there's one on e-bay with a starting bid of $375. If I were selling one, I'd do a little research, look around and see what else might be out there, and what other people are asking. You can always set a reserve price on it. |

Looked at the pic you posted over there on FABO. FYI it is a 318 carb, not a slant carb. |

On the carb? Yep V8. Straight PCV fitting=V8, thin flat area towards the front of the air inlet (best as I can describe) the venturi is smaller on a slant carb.
