Post subject:  Need Slant Six Sizes overall

Hello,
I need to know the Length, Width & Height of a Slant Six. My son and myself are working on his 1929 Plymouth and he wants to put a Slant six in place of the flat head 4 banger that's in it. He's trying to make it to a 60's style hot rod. I guess 40 hp just isn't enough for him. And he wants to stay with a mopar theme. I can understand that. I think its going to be a little tight. So any help would really be helpful.

Thanks

Post subject:  Grumpy, do you want bare block dimensions or driving size?

Hi Grumpy,

Do you want a bare block dimension set, with not oil pan and valve cover, or do you want dimensions for one that is running, to include room for the alternator, oil pan, fan, etc?

Thanks Rock,

Want I'm looking for is
#1-From bottom of oil pan to top of carb.
#2-From water pump to back end of the block, where bell housing bolts up.
#3-From side to side.(between motor mounts)

It doesn't have to be exact just something to give me a start on which direction to go in.

What I have now is 29" across the frame rails, 29" from radiator to firewall & 32" from hood to steering linkage.

Anything would be helpful.

Thanks

A "tall block" 225 (RG) engine is roughly 32" long, 18" wide and 28" tall.
The length at 32" is generous and the hight from carb top to pan floor is not that useful, subtract 4 inches from that for the sump.

Thank You DOCTOR,

That just what I was looking for.

Ahhhh, DOCTOR, I've got this bum knee ya wouldn't happen to have something in you bag of trick for that would ya?

Now all I have to do is figure out if I want to move the Radiator forward or the Firewall back or both...No one said life was easy..Since my son still wants to go forward and use a slant six.

Thanks again.
