Post subject:  forged dish pistons

Hello gentlemen.
Im looking around for pistons. Its kind of hard for me to find because im not really knowledgeable about slant sixes.
What options are out there for going with FORGED DISHED pistons for the slant 6. I have a 225.
Im going turbo so im looking for the less static compression possible but still aluminum forged.
Thanks

Any piston manufacturer can make slant 6 pistons. Just choose who you like. Wiseco/K1 has some pistons and rods on the shelf. As far as I know there are no other "off the shelf pistons".

Thank you 8)
My concern is actually getting a forged like you said. "on the shelf"
because custom made are way more expensive.

I had to have customs made because there wasn't anything "off the shelf" with a sutible compression height.

But what was your target cr?

One OTS (off-the shelf) option is to find some forged 2.2 4 cylinder Mopar forged flat tops and hang them on 6.7 long 225 con rods, that gives you 6.9 to 1 compression "on paper".

The special Wiseco "long rod" forged piston will also get you into that CR range.

That would work but I wanted new rods to be safe with a lot of boost.

What is the stock comp ration on the 225 anyway?
Im looking for forged low comp on pistons..

I believe they are rated 8.2 but given machining tolerances from the factory, I would guess they are in the 7.5 to 8.0 range.

I would check with Wiseco, see how much you could take off the top of their earlier, heavier, guessing thicker pistons.
I do have a set of those new in the box that I wont be using, think its worth a call. Then you could use the new K1 rods and set the engine up as a low compression, long rod motor.Mark
