I have a 71 Duster 225ci and I recently used a cooling system flush and now there is a a lot of "gunk" in the radiator and the passages looked clogged. Looking back this was probably a bad idea but now I'd like to clean out the radiator.
How can I accomplish this and what tools/supplies would be needed. Thanks

Sounds like the flush did it's job... I'd get a flush tee that fits in the heater hose. Remove the thermostat, and refill the system. open the radiator petcock, leave the cap off then flush until the system is clean.

If you have some rust problems you can use a phosporic acid/water solution to derust the system... just don't make it more than a 75/25 mix and don't let it in there more than 20 minutes or so.

If your radiator is old you may be wise to skip the de-rusting process.

Used the flushing tee method and a lot of dark water came out, but the "gunk" is still on top of the radiator! I think the radiator is going to have to be removed and the tanks removed then roded. How are the tanks removed and what will be needed? Thanks

Remove your radiator then turn it upside down tap it hard with a rubber mallet (careful dont bend it). Use water and compressed air from the bottom the the top alernately. Should come clean.
