About a month ago my grandson asked me if after he graduated from the Navy's boot camp, he could have my 76 Volare Wagon. Now mind you that car is my pride and joy, but so is my grandson. I finally agreed and began looking for another ride. In the next couple of days I will be headed north to look at a 1962 Valiant 4-door, with the 225/pushbutton 904 combo. I've previous owned 63 to 69 cars, so this car will truly be new to me. |

Congrats in advance! Road Toads are a lot of fun, I enjoy driving the '60. |

My luck is still running badly. After closely examining the 62 car I decided I would pass on it. Instead, I elected to buy the runner up, a 1964 Valiant 2-Door with a 170 /6 motor. |

Sorry no photos. Twice in recent weeks when I was finally able to locate a car I might be happy with, something came up to squelch the deal. The 62 Valiant fell through and yesterday the 64 Valiant fell through. The first car was of my doing, and the second car, the present owner's doing. Remember: he was the one who advertised his car as having a 225 when in reality it was a 170. I think he found someone else to buy the car at his advertised price, so last night when i called him to set up a time and date to pick up the car he backed out. But wait....all is not lost. Several years ago I attempted to buy a local 66 Valiant Wagon, but never quite closed the deal. Lo and behold yesterday's Swap and Sell paper listed the car for sale. I made a call and verified this to be the same car AND it was listed at a very affordable price. So the car shopping has come to an end: I will pick up the 66 Valiant Wagon tomorrow night. It seems I have a thing about wagons! I will some rust issues to deal with, but it has been upgraded to an 8 3/4 rear, big bolt pattern wheels, front disc brakes, tied frame, completely rebuilt front end, and a new slant motor with less than 5000 miles on it. |

J. Goodman, Sounds like a good score on the V wagon. BTW, I will be in VA Beach on Saturday in my '64 Dart. Blacksburg Rugby is playing VA Beach rugby at 2 PM. Don't know location yet, but will try to post that here. Might be a good chance to meet if you like. Best, Lou |
