I thought I had read of someone putting a 3.9L V6 into a Dart, but can't remember. I have the opposite - 225 Slant 6 in a 1990 Dakota!

There have been many conversions using both the 318 and 360's, regular and magnum. A guy near me put a 3.9 v-6 into a 64 Valiant.

Was that conversion successful? Was he happy with the performance and economy? The complaints I have heard about the 3.9 is that the economy is not much better than the v-8, which is not good either.

I don't know. he wound up selling the car. I only saw him a couple of times. He didn't seem to want to socialize.

I see a guy with a 66 Dart wagon at Mopars at the strip with a 3.9.Looks really cool, makes you do a double take when you notice it's not a V8.
