: Well, I rebuilt the carb on my '69 Valiant and
: the car was running great! More pickup than

: Sounds like a piece of dirt got into / onto the
: needle valve / valve seat or the float
: itself is defective and is "taking-on
: fuel".
: I would clean-out the needle valve as a start
: and see if that cures the problem.

: Also check to make sure that you didn't cross
: thread the new seat when you screwed it into
: the carb body.
