I always just crank up the idle to 1500-2000 RPM and very slowly pour some water down the carb. If the engine shuts off, you know you've put it in too fast Gilly Quote:

If the engine shuts off, you know : you've put it in too fast : : Gilly Guy I know told me in the 50s and 60s they would take a coke can fill it half with Mineral Spirits and half with water, bring the engine under a load of 2000rpm and pour it slowly in bursts letting the engine clear out every time.
