...for 360 / 727 / 8-3/4" combo in '74 Duster? I need to have one cut down and balanced, so I need to get a good measurement. Once fully seated in the tailshaft, how far should I pull out the front slip yoke to measure the driveshaft's length?

Jerry

Parts book says this should be a 44.99" (45") driveshaft. Double check and make sure.

I'll use both of your bits of information and "reverse engineer" to confirm. And by the way, why couldn't they just say 45"? Seriously, we're talking about a drive shaft, not something like bearing clearance. That 0.01" difference is very small (between 1/128" and 1/64").

Thanks much,
Jerry
