| Post subject: | Trasmission mount? Rickety chassis noises |
I've got some loud noises coming from under the cab of my 87 pickup. Sounds like hog luv'n. There is a crossmember that appears to house a transmission mount or bushing. Its hard to see whats there. I noticed a nut protuding from the area is rubbing on one part of the crossmember. My question is is there a bushing/mount there? If so, is it a real bear to repair if its failed somehow. This truck has been bouncing around a farm for 20 years and I'm still having driveline vibrations after a ujoint repair. ________ W125 |

Yep Trans mount. Can be easy or tuff to do, depends on how rusty the hardware is. It will really help the vibrations too. I have a mount gone in my 87 and it vibrates bad, my 82 is good and smooth. Frank |

As long as that mount isn't as bad as an'83 Mercedes 300td motor mount I may survive the repair. It just hit me--the list of vehicles you have there, Frank. You're living the Mopar high life! ________ Honda XL125 |
