I when I take a right hand corner and the car is in gear i get a thumping noise, but when I use the clutch the noise stops. If I let the clutch out the noise starts again. I was wondering if any of you have any idea's what would make it do this. I replaced the shocks and I am thinking it might be the wheel bearing on that side. |

Bad trasmission tailshaft mount can cause a thumping noise while coasting. |

Possibly wheel bearing. WHen the 7 1/4 axle in my old 84 5th ave went out it started by making a clunking noise going around corners which progressed to a serious banging and shudder. Turned out both the spider gears had teeth sheared off. On a straightaway it would do fine (at least initially) but on the corners it would make noise. |
