hey When I take my dart for a cruise, and leave home, it takes my car a while before it shifts up into second gear. but once it did, the problem doesnt occur anymore... auto trans of course... what's the problem here? Should i wait a lill longer to let it heat up before i take it for a spin or is it something related to kickdown linkage? somebody help me on this one please. |

This is pretty common when the transmission gets some miles and years on it. Next time, try shifting into Neutral and then cold-starting the car, rather than taking off from Park. It's probably (past?) time for a fluid and filter change and band adjustment. What year transmission is this? |

it's a 68 dart, i'll give it a try to put it in neutral en then fire it up. can i do this fluid and filter change and band adjustment myself? j |
