I'm mainly interested in bolt on stuff but could go for more. I read an artical from this board on clutches, thanks to Doug Dutra,I Don't remember how long ago though. The thing is I've got a nice and light(shortbed shortened 14.4375) 78 d 150 with a A833 4spd (no overdrive) and the original 3.50 posi rear with 295 50 r15's. THANKS to this board I'm pretty sure I've got the power to smoke these all weather Hankook's (if ONLY to avoid the overly aggressive drivers this century has produced)So once again,(excuse my southern,I learned to talk in Florida), What do you'll use?? magicalbus@hotmail.com |

I use the factory HD 10 inch set-ups. I shoot for 2200-2400 for light pedel pressure and 2600+ if you don't mind a little left leg exercise. DD |

I'm going to take this info to a local clutch builder. 2600+ sounds good. my clutch peddle is real easy going, part of the swap was to cut the car and truck yokes in halfand weld the car bearing end to the truck linkage end, long yoke, less work.I can imagine where and why the mounting tabs would stress crack but I dont think I could do any welding there to renforse. may be washers with a"wing" that could be welded higher up and not disturb the temper around the holes? maybe some one has tried this? thanks again, Bruce magicalbus@hotmail.com |
