The articles that is available through slantsix.org are really a great help to a deeper understanding of things related to our cars and engines, but is it possible to gather copies of repair- and service manuals at this website? I am not familiar with the laws concerning copyrights in US, but as an example I would like to be able to make public the official Chrysler Corporation Service Manuals that I have, 1978 and 1979, as well as other stuff I have been gathering through the years. I am sure that many other members would like to share what they have, too. Are there certain rules regarding the age of the material, and if it is avalable in print or not? I have seen that the Imperial Club are publishing a lot of official manuals, but do you need a permission from Chrysler Corp. to do that? If it is possible, do you have space on your servers to let people upload their manuals, brochures and similar stuff?
Comments anyone?
olaf.

Copyright laws change from time to time, but I believe that the current term is 90 years and is renewable. Chrysler has licensed electronic reproductions of many of their manuals so I don't think it would be feasible to reproduce them here on the website. It's a nice thought, but Chrysler in the past has vigorously defended their intellectual property rights and would be unlikely to grant permission without payment of royalties.

Growing older is unavoidable but growing up is strictly optional.
