Post subject:  throttle linkage help

I am attempting to fabricate a linkage for the kick down rod. I have a super six set up and some linkage parts off a unknown donor car. I think they are from a slant that had the throttle shaft point front to back?
So I have fabricated my first attempt. Including a throttle cable and return spring bracket, adjustable linkage, pivot shaft and a low profile attachment piece that goes on the lever on the transmission. It all works and does not bind. However it is my understanding that the lever on the transmission is supposed to be pushed all the way back at WOT. Which mine is not doing it only gets about 1/2 to 3/4 there. It is 80's 904 automatic and BBD carb off a V8. Does any one have some ideas about getting the full motion of the throttle lever on the transmission. I was carful to make all the levers on the pivots the same length. I tried to change the length on one of the pivot arms to increase the ratio but it made to gas pedal feel heavy and stiff.

I also need to know what is on the back of a 64 valiants gas pedal. Mine has nothing there but a odd metal loop that looks like something should be in there.

Here are some pictures of what i have done so far.

thanks Joe

Figured it out just had to shorten the lever on the transmission. Solved all the problems.

Good work Joe.
I have been looking at making a conversion kit to convert a mid 70's 1bbl linkage fit a super six. But its WAY down on my list of prioritys.

Thanks Joe for the post. I'm going to put a "78" super six in my "51" International pickup. I copied your pictures that way I will have something to look at so I'll I have a idea what to do. I will have to fabricate a linkage for the kick down. When I got the super six it didn't have the kick down linkage parts. Thanks again for the pictures. :D :D :D
