Of the automatic transmisson fluids available today,, which would be the correct choice for the automatic trans in a slant powered 68 Barracuda,
This car has been sitting for a long time, what is in it today is likely the original factory fill,,
Also which model transmission would this be?

thanks

ATF +4 :?: , and I would guess a 904... You are slant powered, right?

Yep, it's an A904. And yep, the premium fluid is ATF+4 (not +3!).

See this post and the post linked from it.

thanks,,
yes it is a slant,

does the A904 have much going for it from a durability / performance standpoint,, basically, if I do a mild boost in engine HP,,target 160 to 175 at the rear wheels,, would a good A904 do?

thanks

Yes. You aren't going to break it. Just put in good fluid, make sure it's adjusted correctly, and spend upgrade money elsewhere.
