Post subject:  Ford Ranger wheels
Ford Ranger's have a 5 on 4.5" bolt pattern which would be the same as the old Dodge truck and Chrysler big bolt pattern cars correct? Are the center holes big enough and/or do the lug nuts swap? I was wondering if they would maybe fit on a 79 power wagon or my 78 volare, they are aluminum. What kind of offset would these have in comparison to regular steel chrysler wheels?

Ranger wheels are small for a powerwagon.....but they should be the same as the F body wheels. Backspacing is "similar" but more info is necessary.

Ford Exporer....same thing

Jeep Cherokee "" ""

Mustang/crownvic ....same but different offset

I'm not so sure about this. I have a Ranger and an older D100; I was able to use the D100 spare on the ranger but the center hole was a little larger than the ranger's hub. I went ahead and used it because I only had to go a mile to get another tire, but I didn't feel too comfortable about it. Only thing holding the rim on was the lug nuts.

Check the hub diameter. "Close" is not close enough.

well; I ran Diplomat squad car wheels on both my Wranglers and my Cherokee; no problem there;
on my 97 Wrangler I have a set of aftermarket American Racing "OutlawII on there; I was given a set of OEM Ranger wheels by a neighbor; I had thoughts of using those on my Wrangler instead; same design as the "outlawII's"; the center hub hole was too small, on the OE Ranger ones

and as far as the D 100 wheel on the Ranger? the hub hole being bigger that is not an issue; that wheel would have been just fine on the Ranger; the tapered lugnuts are what centers the wheel.
only way this is trouble, is if the wheel center is smaller than the hub diameter. (wheel will not seat up all the way)

The Ford center hole is a little bit too small.
