My wiring schematic only shows one white wire hooking up to the oil sender on the oil pump, but on my truck there are three in patriotic colors: one white, one 12 or 14 ga red, and dark blue. The red was hooked to a bunch of other red wires (from the alternator, voltage regulator, et al) and naturally the white goes through the bulkhead connector to the gauge. What's the blue wire for? Do I really need it? Do I need the red one either? Bear in mind this wiring harness was pretty boogered up when I got it. The guy who hacked this up was a 33rd degree idiot. |

Never mind, runs just fine without the red or blue. Idiot light still works fine with just the white. Must've been some sort of lean burn thing. |

Careful what you disconnect — in some years and configurations, the choke heater connects via the oil pressure sender. |

Dan, once again I believe you are correct. But I am using a manual choke, so no worries.
