I have some questions as to intake porting. I have had people suggest I get my intake ported to match the head they think its restricting my engine. The head already has bowl and port work and is gasket matched. I currently am running an untouched offy 4bbl. My question is should I gasket match and port the offy or would I benefit more going to an intake with more plenum volume like a clifford or a hurricane intake and port one of them instead. I am running a procharger on this engine with 10lbs of boost. The engine is 0.060 over, oversized valves,custom comp cam, 650 holley. Any feed back, suggestions or opinions? |

If you are after most power, then get a Clifford or Hurricane and start with that. Ports are 5-10% bigger in area than Offy. Then port match to head and you should be set. Lou |
