I have a 1964 Plymouth trans from or out of a car with a slant/6 what kind would it be, it is a auto trans three speed. I don't have any of the info(numbers) for the trans with me. Just was wondering what the hell I have hear. I just want a extra for my 1975 Dodge Dart. I hope this one will work, if so I am going to re-build it and have it ready. It came from a running but RUSTY VERY RUSTY CAR! |

A 1964 slant six auto trans is a 904. It will not be an easy swap into any mopar 1966 and later. The 64 trans is "cable shifted", has a flage on the rear of the tail shaft, and a different speedo hookup. It also has a smaller input shaft diameter, so needs the torque converter that goes with the trans, but that has a smaller pilot then the register in the end of the 68 and up engines, so a small adapter is needed. You would be much better off finding a 68 or later 904 trans. The later trans will be a direct bolt for bolt replacement. |

I would suggest you offer the trans to members of the site (or other Mopar sites), rather then just "getting rid of it". Where are you located?

I am in Elizabeth,IL and if you want I will trade for a trans that will work in my 1975, or sell it for $75.00 with the complete shift parts (dash part & cables) |

If you were closer, I would work a trade, but shipping that heavy an item is a deal killer. |
