Post subject:  HEI Module Recommendation?

I've blown two HEI modules from Advance Auto and one from O'Reilly. All were lifetime guarantees. But that doesn't help when you engine stops in traffic.

I'm using the 76 Camaro application.

Any suggestions would be deeply appreciated.

I got a for-real AC Delco module from (oddly enough) amazon.com for pretty cheap, and it's not one of the cheap Chinese pieces. Mine is for a 1980 turbo Trans Am but I think they are all the same.

I got one from NAPA and it's worked perfectly for the last few years. Search for Dan's HEI thread on here. I believe he has some part numbers and brand names for the high quality modules.

Standard Motor Products first quality only (LX301) or a real GM module. I got an original from an old Chev pickup in a wrecking yard.

I use an Accel unit on my 5th Avenue.

From what I have read, the GM module has the longest dwell. Some of those ones from race part companies are just re-labled GM units. A friend of mine paid quite a bit of money for one from Mallory or Accel and washed it with brake cleaner and the lable fell off and revealed the GM printing underneath. He was pretty upset.
