I want put a dual master cylinder in my car to replace the single master cylinder. It all seems straight forward. Get a master cylinder, add a proportioning valve, run new lines.

My question is: Will the current master cylinder push rod that is connected to the brake pedal work or do I need to scavenge one of those for my changeover?

Don't want disc brakes or power brakes(yet). Just safer brakes. Thanks

Although I can't remember the p/n Mopar lists a push rod kit that is adj. I have used it many times on my old cars. can't seem to locate my catalog at the moment..............what else is new. Anyway they also make a lightweight master cyl kit. should be easy to find on line. good luck on your project...............................................max aka david taylor

Yes, the stock pushrod will work just fine with an appropriately-selected new master cylinder. The adjustable pushrod is a waste of money and effort on the early cars; in many cases it cannot be adjusted short enough.

I checked out the adjustable push rods and that kind of money didn't really appeal to me but if it had to be that way, so be it.

Do you know what an appropriately selected master cylinder might be?

I thought maybe 1967 or 68 manual brakes(no disc) might work. Yes-No? Something better?
