i started my s6 and noticed that it throws out white smoke ? only when i step on the gas but not when idling { well not as noticible } you can smell gas ? but you can actually see the smoke when accelerating. it is not water from the radiater ????????

Hopefully you had antifreeze in it over the winter.
Possibly a blown head gasket.....or a crack.
Have you done a compression test?

Does it overheat? A bad head gasket or cracked head will give you white smoke and usually will make the car overheat as well.

Does it spew white smoke now that it has been run a bit? Sometimes there can be quite a bit of moisture accumulation inside the exhaust system of a car that has been stored, which will make white smoke for the first run.

Does the exhaust smell faintly sweet? An engine that is consuming antifreeze will give off white, sweet smelling smoke.

miles unknown says 60,000 but ?? has anti freze in it and it does not smell sweet more like gas ? it does it when you first start the car and if you gun it ? but not when it runs ? there is no water loss in the radiater . compression is good

How about the valve seals?

Maybe just condensation from cold exhaust pipe, if it stops after running a while it stops the white "smoke"

you cannot see the smoke once it gets going or when it is idling. only when you give it gas {revving it} also i noticed that the timing is at least 15-20b tdc it seems that the previous owner installed a new distr. ??? maybe ??? that is the problem or is it the valves ? what would i need to do for the valves ? and timing
