there is this tube near the carb next to the dashpot ? it has three hoses connected to it one to the manifold the other to the car and the third to the distributer advance. what does it do and exactly what is the screw with a huge spring do you can turn it in or out ????? it is the size of a standard saly shaker maybe 3" x 1.5 |

That sounds like a Vacuum Amplifier that is for EGR function. What year is your car, and do you have a manual for it? It sounds like your vacuum routing might be messed up. Photo? CJ |

it is a 68 dart standard trans. the manual i got is a chilton which covers several yaers and makes it is called a distributer vacuum unit sorry no pics but it is three inches long by 1.5 round it has three tubes side one to manifold the other side one to dist. the middle one to the carb and has a cover on it that covers half the tube you take it off and there is a spring and a screw in the middle ? it looks like a valve spring {same size almost}it is a 225 |
