OK,I have a BH block and a Rollmaster balancer.I have had a on going leak/seep around the front cover and balancer. Is there supposed to be a oil slinger on the end of the crank inbetween the crank and timing cover? If so does any one have on.This leak drives me nuts. The engine has been to 2 diffrent shops for building and blowing up but I can't stand the leak.Took it apart and I think that in all the other motors I have done there is always a slinger. Please contact me if you have one,I would really like to put it back to gether CORRECTLY! |

Hey I'm down in Phx. I do know that they make a sleave that goes over the balancer, they are more for seal groove wear. I do not know about any "slinger", never seen one in a slant. Have you been changing the timing chain cover seal? ,Cliff |

YES YES .............there is a slinger and they are interchangable as far as I know. They are there for a reason.........timing chain must have oil. I commend you for wanting to do it right. I know a 440 will work as I couldn't find mine so I used the one off a RB B should work also ....be sure to put it on in the right direction........best regards MaX |

Drill the two holes in the timeing cover a bit bigger where dowels go tru. With new seal and gasket on, put the cover on loose.Put damper on,centering seal on the damper with the cover loose I turn the motor tru while tightening the cover. It is now centered perfectly.Anouther seal trick is you can take the spring out of a seal and un thread it at the split, snip a little off and re thread it back together, tightens up the tension on the seal a little. No leaky Guzzi Mark |

If you are getting oil through the center hole of the damper put a little RTV on the inside of the hub before you reinstall the damper. |
