I'm just getting around to installing the disc brake spindles I picked up at the local yard. They are from a late 80s Diplomat and I'm installing them on my 71 Satellite. I ran into an issue with the bolts that attach the new spindle to the lower ball joint/steering arm. The original bolts are now too long and the bolts that came with the spindles are too short. I'm thinking of using some grade 8 bolts and nuts from the hardware store along with some locktite. Before doing this I'd like to know if grade 8 would be correct for this application or if someone has a better idea. Thanks. |

That's good to know. I wasn't sure if grade 8 would be strong enough/too brittle etc. Wouldn't want the wheel assemble to head south while I'm heading north. Thanks. |
