Does anyone have any experiece with MP cams? Are they as good as aftermarket? I was looking at the 268 duration and 460 lift. Will an automatic be ok with this and will there be an interference problem with a milled head of .060 to .080? I know this is basic stuff but I've not done a six before. I want something that is streetable (not as a daily driver.) Thanks for the help.

Steve,

This is certainly a streetable cam. To best use it, you would probably want a higher stall converter (like 2500, which behaves almost like stock). I run a MP 0.490" cam in my daily driver and it works well. It is a bit bumpy, but I can idle it at 6-700 in gear no problem. You won't run into interference problems until you are over 0.600" lift, even with a milled head, so don't worry about that (assuming you have a 225 engine). I have a 0.540" cam in my '64 Dart motor with a 0.120" milled head and there is plenty of clearance.

yeah, i ve run that cam with .090 milled from my 225's head and it worked fine. i used the sliced clay method to check clearance and found a bunch (like .080 or .090".) i'm with lou on the converter. i currently run this cam in my 170 with a milled head and mp valves and it doesn't like the stock converter. i've been too lazy/cheap to rip it out and get it modified like dennis said.
