Post subject:  engine swap question

hello, i have a two door 1965 dodge dart with a 225 slant six engine, and a three on the tree manual transmission.

someone local has for sale a four door 1965 dodge dart, that is the higher trim level, and also has a 225 slant six, but it is an automatic transmission.

the engine also has been rebuilt 40k miles ago by jasper engines, and has headers, and a 4bbl carb. it doen't use/burn or leak a drop of oil.

i want to buy this car, and pull the engine, and put it in my car.

my main question is, will it just bolt up with zero issues?

they are both 65's, i just didn't know about his being an automatic transmission, and my car being a 3 on the tree manual.

thanks.

brian

You will likely have to install a pilot bushing into the replacement engine.
Other then that, it should be a direct bolt-in.
(I would consider installing the 904 auto trans, along w/ the engine)

Thank you. Why do you suggest swapping transmissions too?
